Hi everyone,
A couple of months ago, the board received an inquiry about whether it’s acceptable to attach a key box to the bicycle racks. Since the answer may be relevant for others who need to share keys (e.g. for Airbnb), I’m sharing it here:
We would like to strongly encourage residents not to place key boxes on the bicycle racks or in other publicly accessible areas.
There are two main reasons for this:
- Some insurance companies require key boxes to be hidden from view. If not, coverage may be void.
- The quality of key boxes varies. If one is broken into, a key to the main entrance could provide access to all common areas (including the basement, all three stairwells, and the waste and electricity meter room).
Instead, we recommend using a more secure solution for key sharing – such as a Sharebox.
There is a Sharebox available at the local 7-Eleven on Njalsgade.
Best regards,
Tobias
